Adding characters
Hey there, Fr4ct1ons here! I just wanted to talk about some progress I made on this game. But it was mostly on the main character and a simple intro I made for the fighter:
It's still not what I want though - Just got to fix a few things and it will be looking good enough. By the way, meet the fighter character! Or, well, their gray model.
The fighter is a "highly articulated robot that was designed specifically for robot fighting. It was built to mix the high elasticity of humans and the sturdiness of a robot. The joints are made of somewhat rigid wires proteted by a set of bellows, making the replication of human movement easy. Because it was designed with robot fighting in mind, the hands were replaced with heavy metal balls, increasing the impact force against other robots. In the head, you can find a set of sensors used for voice, vision and audition.
Another thing I would like to talk about is the controller input. I have been trying out Unity's new input system and after a lot of fiddling around, I finally managed to make the game support multiple controller types. Yay! No more different button layouts for Xbox/PS4 controllers. This is another thing that took me a lot of time becuase I couldn't find any good tutorials or explanations on local multiplayer with the new input system. I might make a video regarding this matter and how to do it so nobody else has trouble with that.
Well, I guess that's all. Cheers!
